His compatriot Murali Sreeshankar, the Indian long jumper failed to make headlines as he finished fifth with his best attempt of 7.88m in the long jump event in Lausanne.
The 24-year-old also broke the 8.4m barrier in the long jump, becoming just the second Indian to do so.
Although, S Murali’s personal best came last year, registering a jump of 8.36m.
The 24-year-old long jumper who made his first appearance after an injury layoff, claimed a gold at the Indian Grand Prix 3 with a jump of 7.94m.
Bahamas’ LaQuan Nairn won the gold medal.
The 23-year-old has been a consistent performer with his national record of 8.36 metres jump at the Federation Cup in April 2022.
