RCB won their first-ever T20 trophy in WPL 2024, and will be looking to repeat the triumph in the upcoming edition in 2025.
Moreover, with the WPL window now being shifted to January-February, Cricket Australia has also pushed back the women’s summer fixtures to February-March from their previous schedule of being hosted in January.
The WPL 2024 Auction saw the five franchises signing for a total 30 spots out of the 165 players who had registered for the auction.
The committee hails from diverse backgrounds and the BCCI believes their collective expertise and passion for fostering women’s cricket make them an invaluable asset to the Women’s Premier League.
The first edition of the tournament was held from March 4-26 across two venues in Mumbai.
A maximum of 90 slots are available with the five teams, with 30 being slotted for overseas players.
Royal Challengers Bangalore will become the only IPL franchise to have a women’s team.
