Shardul Thakur was signed by Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2024 auction after Kolkata Knight Riders didn’t retain him because of below par performances last season. Pat Cummins, the Australian captain, who led his team to multiple ICC trophies recently, got a blockbuster deal of ₹20.50 Crore from Sunrisers Hyderabad on his return to the IPL, and he is now named as the new captain of the franchise too.

Mitchell Starc will make his triumphant return to the IPL after opting out of the tournament for nearly a decade, becoming the highest paid player in the history of the league in the process, thanks to Kolkata Knight Riders spending ₹24.75 Crore on him.
