Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has left millions of lives in danger as the world gear up towards an unfortunate war. Many people from around the world have voiced their thoughts against this invasion and one of these voices is of Counter-Strike Global Offensive player Aleksandr Olegovich Kostilev better known as ‘s1mple’.

The 24-year-old recently tweeted, “Please, please, stop, I can't do this anymore, we all need peace (roughly translated).” as Russian troops advanced into his country. Similarly, he also tweeted about how his city was being shelled. His tweet said,  “My city is shelled r fck n.” 

S1mple is a native of Ukraine’s capital Kyiv and also plays for a Ukrainian team called Natus Vincere. Since his debut in 2013, S1mple has won 19 HLTV MVP medals. He joined the Navi in 2016 where he has won a Major Trophy, an Intel Grand Slam trophy and countless other trophies. He has also won the best player award in 2018 and 2021 and was a runner-up for the award in 2019 and 2020.

Other E-sports athletes like Filipino Valorant and former CS: GO player, Jayvee “DubsteP" Paguirigan, tweeted out in reply to s1mple: “Stay safe goat”, with a prayer emoji.  Former CS: GO and current Valorant player Tyson "TenZ" Ngo also tweeted about the ongoing situation in Ukraine. 

His tweet said, “I can’t believe what is happening in the world rn, actually makes me feel sick to my stomach… Prayers for Ukraine and its people.”Fellow CS: GO player “FalleN” also sent out a message saying  “So sad. My prayers to everyone involved” to express his support for S1mple and everyone who is caught in this war. 

The start of these invasions was seen around November 2021 when satellite images of Russian Troops were captured. Ever since then Russian forces have been moving closer towards the Ukrainian borders from various directions.

According to recent reports, the Russians have attacked various locations around Ukraine. Photos and videos of countless Ukrainians are seen queuing in front of ATMs, pharmacies and grocery stores. The Russian attacks have also caused hundreds of casualties already.
