The 1st T20I between India and Sri Lanka turned out to be a cakewalk for home side as they won the match by 62 runs. From Ishan Kishan returning to form to Shreyas Iyer's blistering half-century, from Bhuvneshwar Kumar's impressive display to Venkatesh Iyer taking couple of wickets, there were lot of positives for Men in Blue in Lucknow.
On a day when everything went in favour of India, there was one moment which did not really pan out the way Rohit Sharma and Co. would have thought. It was the 6th over of 2nd innings and Yuzvendra Chahal had been brought into attack. The leggie almost got the big wicket of Charith Asalanka but Shreyas Iyer dropped an easy catch at deep mid-wicket.
Unexpected turn of events in Lucknow during India's bowling
This is when Yuzi took matter in his own hands and got the Sri Lankan batsman adjudged LBW couple of deliveries later. It looked plumb in front and with the on-field umpiring giving it as out, it looked impossible for Asalanka to survive from there.
After discussing with his partner, the left-handed batsman decided to take a chance as he signaled for DRS. What happened next was absolutely astonishing! The replays showed a minor spike when the ball was close to bat and TV umpire asked the on-filed umpire to reverse the decision, as Asalanka somehow survived and India lost the review.
While captain Rohit Sharma could only smile in disbelief, it was coach Rahul Dravid's epic reaction which caught everyone's attention. Sitting in dug-out, the 49-year-old laughed in shock as he covered his face with hands, suggesting that it was instead rather unexpected turn of events on the field.
As India lock horns with Sri Lanka in 2nd T20I on February 26 in Dharamshala, fans would indeed want more of these candid reactions from head coach Rahul Dravid.
