The Indian all-rounder Shreyanka Patil cleaned up Qiana Joseph with an absolute beauty of a delivery. After being hit for a boundary in the first delivery, Shreyanka adjusted her length by bowling it flatter on the off side and it stayed low to beat the batter and uproot the off stump. The young spinner had a field day in the warm-up game against West Indies as she picked up 4 wickets. Shreyanka Patil has played a huge role in helping India restrict the West Indies side to just 153 runs after the 20 overs and they fell short of the target set by India by 26 runs.

The India Women will be delighted with their performance against West Indies in the warm-up game as they have possibly ticked off all the boxes. Their batting unit performed quite well with Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma giving the side a solid start. They even found a new reliable middle order batter in Bharti Fulmali as she scored a fine half-century to help India set a target of 180 on board after the 20 overs. Smriti Mandhana and her side will be confident in carrying the momentum forward in the World Cup as well.

India Women all set for another ICC title challenge

India’s bowling unit was led by the spin attack as they were absolutely clinical with their lengths throughout the innings. Shreyanka Patil picked up 4 wickets and conceded 36 runs in her spell of 4 overs. She was well partnered by Radha Yadav at the other end, who picked up 3 wickets as well. Shafali Verma was also able to pitch in two overs in the middle and she conceded just 9 runs off the 2 overs that she bowled. The pace bowling unit will need to tighten up on their bowling as it will be crucial in England’s conditions. This would be incredibly positive signs for the Indian women’s side as the form of the spin bowling unit could be crucial to the success of the team.

Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma will be key to India’s form in the World Cup as they will have to exploit the powerplay and give the side a solid start. The explosive batting approach will have to come from their bat early on to set the foundation for the middle order. Jemimah Rodrigues and Yastika Bhatia will also be integral parts of the middle order as they could make the most of the middle overs. As it stands, Bharti Fulmali and Richa Ghosh will be entitled with the responsibility to give the side a strong finish at the back end of the innings.

The fans will be hoping that India can maintain the same run of form in the World Cup with such all-round performances. Their batting unit has been contributing quite well in the recent matches and their bowlers will definitely be happy with the support from the batters. Renuka Singh and Kranti Gaud will have to be a bit more sharper with their bowling and that would be the final piece in the jigsaw. India’s women’s side will be charging for yet another ICC title after their triumph in the 2025 ICC ODI Women’s World Cup.
