Rajasthan Royals batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi revealed his first thoughts after getting picked by the inaugural season winners in IPL 2025 mega auction. After being acquired by the franchise for INR 1.1 crore, he became the youngest-ever buy in the league’s history. However, Sooryavanshi revealed that he was not happy with the bid despite fetching such a big amount at a young age. Talking to Romi Bhinder in a video shared by the Rajasthan Royals, Sooryanshi revealed that his first thought was why only two teams bid for him despite remarkable performances.

"Honestly, when I was picked, I thought, 'Why did only two teams bid for me? I play well, I performed well in the trials, other teams should've also bid," the 15-year-old told Bhinder. He added, "But now that I've been with the team for one-and-a-half years, I'm telling you honestly, I've thanked God at least a thousand times for bringing me to a team like Rajasthan Royals.”

Despite being the youngest member of the squad, it didn’t take much time for Sooryavanshi to bend into RR culture and become a fan favorite. The youngster expressed gratitude for landing up with the inaugural season winners. "The coaches, support staff, players, management team, media team, physios trainers... they all feel like a family here. It feels like you're at home, you're so comfortable that you can share anything with anyone, you can speak how you feel with anyone.”

"I can't explain how happy I am after coming to this franchise. All the seniors guide me. They tell me what is good, what I can do and what I should not do. I get to learn a lot," Sooryavanshi further said. Notably, in his last two seasons, the Bihar-born scored 1028 runs with an average of 44.70 and a strike rate of 228.95. In the IPL 2026 season, he bagged several awards including the Orange Cap, MVP, Emerging Player Award, and so much more.
