The Royal Challengers Bengaluru icon Virat Kohli has scored his fastest half-century in the IPL in the grandest of occasions against the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2026 Finals. Kohli has held his ground at the crease and with the wickets falling at the other end, he has firmly stood his ground. He had an interesting match-up against Kagiso Rabada and he just smashed him for a string of boundaries and put all the critics to bed. This has been a different version of Kohli that we have been witnessing today but one thing that hasnāt changed is his unmatchable consistency in the TATA IPL Finals.
The nerves have calmed down at Ahmedabad at the moment as Tim David and Virat Kohli have been quite solid in the middle. The two quick wickets from Rashid Khan to dismiss Rajat Patidar and Krunal Pandya did create some kind of tension or more accurately a glimmer of hope for the Titans. Venkatesh Iyer did give them the ideal start to the innings with a solid 32 off 16 balls and that played a huge role in bringing down the equation. Considering the reputation Virat Kohli has in such matches, this should be a cakewalk for the veteran.

RCB march towards their second TATA IPL title in Ahmedabad
Virat Kohli has been one of those batters for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru that plays the role of the anchor much better than any batter in the league. He has helped the side to just stay in the game quite dominantly well as they are ahead in the run chase. Virat Kohli kicked off his run chase with some brilliant shots against Kagiso Rabada in his second over. Jason Holder has dismissed him twice in this campaign but Kohli has survived his over as well. There is no real challenge left for the veteran in this run chase except the injury he has in his hamstring.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru are still very much in control of the run chase and the Gujarat Titans will be hoping for a miraculous comeback. Tim David disrupted the bowling rhythm of Rashid Khan with a fabulous pull over long-on. They have 6 wickets in hand and this is indeed a very comfortable run chase for the defending champions. With the likes of Jitesh Sharma and Romario Shepherd to still come in, even a couple of wickets at this stage would not entirely affect their batting rhythm. The RCB fans will be on the edge of their seats at the moment as the job is still not done and the defending champions still do have a fair bit to do to lay their hands on their second IPL title.
