The Big Bash League season 12 is underway in Australia. The tournament has given some exceptional performance so far, while there have been some shocking ones too. In the last game between Hobart Hurricanes and Perth Scorchers which took place on December 19 at the Aurora Stadium, the Hurricanes won by 8 runs, winning their first win in the tournament.
During the match, an incident which hogged the limelight was Faf du Plessis’ wicket. Just when the batter was having to look settled in the middle after scoring 32 runs of 15 deliveries, the Scorchers were handed a much-needed breakthrough. On the fifth bowl of the fourth over of Scorchers innings, Matthew Wade cheekily yelled ‘bowled’, which distracted Faf with him getting bowled thereafter. This instance even annoyed the South African batter as he expressed his disappointment and later walked off the field.

Justifying to the actions, the Australian wicketkeeper batter Matthew Wade confronted that he had no idea of how early his comments were made. “I think he was disappointed. I called ‘bowled’ maybe a little bit early. I don’t know how early it was, but I think that’s why he was annoyed…apologies Faf,” Wade said while speaking to Channel 7.
With the wicket of Faf du Plessis, the Scorchers eventually fell short of eight runs, chasing 173 despite a brilliant cameo by Josh Inglis.
