GodLike achieved second place in COD
The renowned Indian organisation GodLike Esports recorded history at the COD Mobile World Championship 2023, held in Atlanta, USA. The team acquired runner-up position on December 17, 2023, and marked the first instance of an Indian team securing the second rank in this prestigious global tournament. They won a significant prize of $170,000.

SOUL – one of the best gaming organisations in the world
Soul Esports emerged as one of the best gaming organisations in the world and rose to prominence after it won the first-ever ‘Global Impact on Mobile Gaming’ at the MOBIES Awards. Soul Esports was established by Naman Mathur, also known as Soul Mortal, in 2018, and at present is handled by S8UL Mortal, Thug, and Goldy Bhai. In addition, S8UL also won the ‘Content Creator of the Year’ award at the global Esports Awards 2023.

Bihar State Esports Open Championship
The Bihar States Esports Authority took things a notch higher as it announced the first-ever Bihar State Esports Open Championship. The first-ever Bihar State Esports Open Championship was hosted from December 7 to 28. A state-wise competition, the open championship was organised on LAN, in three divided into three phases – Registration Phase, Online Phase, and Grand Finals.

Making debut at Asian Games 2022
Indian esports marked its debut at the Asian Games 2022, held in Hangzhou in the Republic of China. This was the second season, esports was featured in the continental showpiece. There were a total of seven esports titles, and India participated in four of those events, including the likes of DOTA 2, FIFA Online 4 (FIFAe), League of Legends (LoL), and Street Fighter V: Champion Edition (SFV). While India couldn’t find a spot on the podium, the Indian players displayed exceptional performance at the debut Asiad campaign.

Return of BGMI
The Battleground Mobile India (BGMI) made its return and was released on May 29, 2023. The royale sports game was banned in 2022 due to security reasons but found its way back to esports lovers. In December 2023, the BGMI won the award for the Best Ongoing Game in Google Play’s Best of 2023 in India. Needless to say, the game gained immense popularity since its return.
