The BGMI 4.6 Update is expected to bring back one of the popular old modes in Battlegrounds Mobile India. According to early information about the upcoming update, Ocean Odyssey Mode is set to make a comeback alongside the new Vampire-themed mode.
Ocean Odyssey was originally introduced as an underwater-themed experience with special locations, abilities and gameplay mechanics. Its expected return will give players another chance to experience the mode after a long time.
Ocean Odyssey Mode Returning in BGMI 4.6 Update
The return of Ocean Odyssey Mode is one of the interesting additions expected with BGMI 4.6. Unlike the main Vampire-themed experience of the upcoming update, Ocean Odyssey will bring back the familiar underwater setting from its original version.
Players who missed the mode earlier will be able to experience its ocean-themed world, while older BGMI players can revisit the mode again.
However, it is currently unclear whether KRAFTON will bring Ocean Odyssey back exactly as it was or make some changes for its return. More information should become available closer to the update.
Ocean-Themed Ultimate Set and Gun Skins
BGMI has also been bringing more ocean-themed cosmetics to the game. A Gilt Spin introduced an Ultimate outfit featuring a special fluid-like design inspired by the underwater theme.
The event also featured an upgradable M762 skin.
Another major attraction is the Tidal Embrace M416, which includes special features such as inspect emotes and firearm-switching animations. A Gem Conversion option also gives eligible players an opportunity to use their gems for returning weapons.
These cosmetics are separate from the upcoming 4.6 update, but their ocean theme fits well with the return of Ocean Odyssey.
BGMI 4.6 Expected to Bring More New Features
Ocean Odyssey will not be the only attraction of the next major update. Early information suggests that BGMI 4.6 will introduce a new Vampire-themed mode as its main themed experience.
More gameplay changes, events, rewards and other features are also expected. Since the update has not arrived yet, some content seen in early versions could be changed before the final release.

The BGMI 4.6 Update release date is expected around September 16, 2026, although KRAFTON has not officially confirmed the exact date yet.
The current BGMI 4.5 Naruto collaboration content is scheduled to continue until around September 14, making a mid-September release likely for the next major version.
Players should wait for an official announcement from KRAFTON for the confirmed launch date. If Ocean Odyssey returns as expected, BGMI 4.6 could offer a mix of completely new Vampire-themed gameplay and nostalgia for players who enjoyed the old underwater mode.
