The former T20 World Cup champions, Pakistan, were unable to qualify for the Super 8 stage in the 2024 edition, falling behind the newcomers USA in Group A. Although the pitches weren’t quite easy to bat in the USA during the T20 World Cup 2024, the lack of intent from most of the Pakistan batters became one of the main reasons they won’t be playing in the Super 8 stage of the tournament. The biggest example of the lack of intent came from Mohammad Rizwan, who tried to occupy the crease against most of the Indian bowlers while chasing down a 120-run target, only to lose his stumps while trying to slog Jasprit Bumrah, the best bowler of the opposition, towards the mid-wicket region in a major strategic error.
