The ongoing Test series between India and England is evenly poised at 1-1 with the two teams currently fighting to take a lead at The Oval, London before moving for the final game slated to take place in Manchester starting September 10. However, before the match could resume on Day 4 with India trying to capitalise their good start in their second innings, a bad news has come to the fore.

According to the latest update from the Indian camp, four members of the visiting side- named head coach Ravi Shastri, bowling coach Bharat Arun, fielding coach Ramakrishnan Sridhar and physiotherapist Nitin Patel have been isolated from rest of the team members after Shastri’s lateral flow test came out to be positive.

All 4 members to remain in isolation until confirmation from the medical team: BCCI

Coach Shatri and three others have taken their RT-PCR tests, results of which are awaited. However, the four members would continue to stay in isolated until they receive a nod from the medical team.

England vs India 4th Test resumes on time

Even though so much happened in the Indian camp, the fourth Test match on Day 4 between India and England resumed on time. However, BCCI, in the same release, clarified that all the other team members underwent two lateral flow tests- one in the preceding night and one in the Sunday morning and returned negative for the virus. After that only the players were given a green signal to resume the game on Sunday.

"The remaining members of the Team India contingent underwent two Lateral Flow Tests – one last night and another this morning. The members upon returning negative COVID reports were allowed to proceed for Day 4 of the ongoing fourth Test at The Oval," BCCI stated.
