5-6 retentions, RTM option debatable in owners meeting on July 31: Reports
Regarding the auction and retentions, BCCI is set to settle on an average number, possibly five or six. This decision has been taken to maintain interest in the auction. If teams were allowed close to right retentions, the auction would be without 80 top players leaving it lacklustre and the BCCI want to limit the number of retained players.
Looking at the Right To Match option, RTM has emerged as a heavily debated issue at the meeting, although it's likely that the BCCI has already taken a call on the issue. There were no RTMs in the 2021 mega-auction.
