New York Jets star quarterback Aaron Rodgers is set to miss the entire 2023-24 NFL after suffering an injury in the season opener on Monday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills.  Rodgers  has officially been diagnosed with a torn Achilles after an MRI as reported by  NFL Network's   Tom Pelissero

Rodgers went down in the first quarter with an ankle injury and underwent X-rays that night. Unfortunately for the former Green Bay Packers star, the medical report was negative as the Jets had ruled him out of the remainder of the game.

With  Aaron Rodgers out for the season,  Zach Wilson will take the reins from the former MVP. Wilson was expected to develop under Rodgers through the 2023 campaign but would be required to take a bigger role in the team. The  Draper native has had  22 starts over his first two seasons and has thrown for 4,022 yards, 15 touchdowns and 18 interceptions.

Talking about his performance against  Buffalo, Wilson threw for 140 yards, with one touchdown and one interception in a Jets overtime win. Alongside Wilson,  the Jets also have veteran Tim Boyle on the practice squad and will look to add another QB in another addition with Rodgers out for the rest of the season.

After acquiring Aaron Rodgers in the off-season, the New York Jets were hoping to make a deep in the NFL post-season and even push for a spot in the AFC final. But with the injury, the Jets could add to their record 12-year streak of missing the playoffs.
