With the start of the Indian Premier League 2022 just 19 days away, the excitement is touching the roof as the edition is back in the country. However, the matches will be hosted at selected venues, it gives a different kind of joy to have it back.

Amidst all this, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already announced the schedule of the mega event with reigning champions Chennai Super Kings taking on Kolkata Knight Riders in the tournament opener.

While there are some franchises who are yet to decide their skipper, Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of them which has all the eyes. As everyone waits for this announcement, reports say that former RCB player AB de Villiers will join the Bangalore-based franchise as a mentor.

As per reports, de Villiers expressed his wish to get associated with the franchise as he felt that he has a lot to serve in a different capacity.

With star players like Ab de Villiers not available, the red and black franchise features the ‘Golden trio’ of  Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli & Glenn Maxwell.

Other than these three star players, the squad includes likes of Mohammed Siraj, Harshal Patel, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dinesh Karthik, Josh Hazlewood, Shahbaz Ahmed, Anuj Rawat, Akash Deep, Mahipal Lomror, Finn Allen, Sherfane Rutherford, Jason Behrendorff, Suyash Prabhudesai, Chama Milind, Aneeshwar Gautam, Karn Sharma, Siddharth Kaul, Luvnith Sisodia and David Willey.
