Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star Ambati Rayudu continued his brutal attack on the Royal C hallengers Bengaluru (RCB) after they got eliminated from the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Faf du Plessis-led side who once again qualified for the playoffs after a close win over the reigning champions in a last-ball thriller, failed to progress further ahead after they were knocked out by the Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator on May 22 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
This defeat and RCB’s IPL title drought extending for another season got fans furious. Not only were the fans infuriated with this, but Ambati Rayudu also continued his brutal dig, making headlines. But what caught the eyeballs was his indirect dig at former RCB skipper and batting stalwart Virat Kohli.
“My heart truly goes out to all the rcb supporters who have passionately supported the team over the years. If only the management and the leaders had the teams interests ahead of individual milestones… rcb would have won multiple titles,” he said while criticising the team management also. However, he also raised some hope for them when he added that they can start a new chapter with the IPL 2025 mega auction scheduled to take place later this year.
“Just remember how many fantastic players have been let go off. Force your management to bring players who will put teams interests first. A great new chapter can start from the mega auction,” he further added.
It is to be noted that Virat Kohli has been among criticism for his strike rate despite being the Orange Cap holder in the IPL 2024. Virat Kohli amassed 741 runs from 15 matches at an average of 61.75 and a strike rate of 154.69.
