Cristiano Ronaldo-led Saudi Pro League club, Al Nassr has signed Brazil international Angelo Gabriel for reportedly a $25 million deal. Gabriel, who was part of the Premier League club Chelsea on loan for the 2023-24 season, was loaned to Strasbourg (Chelsea’s sister club) by Santos ahead of the 2023-24 season.
Although, the teenager did not feature in a single game for the Blues, he did play 24 games for the sister club. The statement released on the official website of The Blues read, “The winger joined the Blues last summer from Brazilian club Santos, for whom he debuted at the age of 15 years, ten months and four days. Having spent pre-season with Chelsea, Angelo joined RC Strasbourg for the 2023/24 campaign.”
“The 19-year-old made 24 appearances during his time in France and was part of our first-team squad for our summer tour of the USA.
We wish Angelo the very best as he begins the next chapter in his career and thank him for his efforts during his time with Chelsea,” it further read.
Notably, the sale of Gabriel has made a significant impact on the finances of the club. The club will make profits close to 6 million euros, as reported by BBC. If the amount earned from loan fees and sell on clauses is made public, the profits might reach around 200 million euros. Chelsea have sold close to 18 players during the 2024-25 summer transfer window. Moreover, the team has brought 11 players, costing them 208.5 million euros.
