Fans flooded social media with memes as Indian bowling ace Jasprit Bumrah bowled out Australia’s Travis Head in the fourth Test of Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 series. India and Australia were up against each other in the fourth of the elite five-match series at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The Boxing Day Test saw home favourite skipper Pat Cummins winning the toss for the first time in the series and inviting the rivals to field first. During the game, Indian bowling superstar Bumrah picked crucial wickets of Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh to pull the momentum for the visitors in the final session of the first day’s play.
Head, who was in his furious form throughout the series, went back for a seven-ball duck. While Head was eyeing for a hundred for the third successive Test in the series, he failed to contribute any run to Australia’s total. Head shouldered arms to a delivery that jagged back and saw the ball hitting the top of his off-stump. Head misjudged the ball and didn’t play the shot to Bumrah, and lost his wicket. As Head, who was India’s biggest nightmare in the series, failed to add any runs to the scoreboard, Indian fans started to flood social media with memes, trolling the Aussie batter.
On the first day of the match, Jasprit Bumrah broke Anil Kumble’s record for the most wickets by an Indian bowler at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, taking his tally to 19. Bumrah dismissed Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, and Mitchell Marsh on the first day of the Boxing Day Test.
