Former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry Kiran Bedi, Bollywood actor Anupam Kher and Indian cricketer Harleen Deol found themselves in hot waters on day 1 of the Paris Olympics 2024. The quadrennial sporting events officially began on Friday, July 26, in the French capital city of Paris. As Indian athletes underwent action on the first official day, Bedi, Kher and Deol almost did a blunder and got on fans’ radar.
They took to X to share that the Indian men’s 4x400 relay team had qualified for the finals. They posted a video and congratulated that Indian team for making it to the summit clash. As their posts went viral, several Indian sports lovers criticised them for sharing old videos while clearing that the video is from the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
In the tournament, the Indian team of Amoj Jacob, Muhammed Anas Yahiya, Muhammed Ajmal, and Rajesh Ramesh recorded the timings of 2:59.05s to reach the final for the first time. Not only this, but they also broke the Asian record by qualifying for the final in August 2023.
