Bollywood star Anushka Sharma was seen praying as her husband and India batter Virat Kohli survived an early DRS call against New Zealand in the first semi-final of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Playing in Mumbai, the Men in Blue won the toss and started brilliantly with the bat thanks to Rohit Sharma.

Continuing his aggressive approach in the powerplay, the Indian captain lit up the Wankhede Stadium with a flurry of sixes and fours. But as Sharma departed at a score of 47 in 29 balls with four sixes and four fours, Kohli came out and had to face an early LBW shout.

After starting with a dot, Kohli was Southee's dart in and hit him on the pads. The Kiwis seemed confident and went for a DRS. Here as the camera panned towards  Anushka Sharma, she was seen praying as Kohli was deemed not out as the ball took an outside edge.

Ahead of this big match, Rohit Sharma talked about how he and Team India want to focus on the elements that can be controlled. Speaking at the toss, Sharma said, " We are gonna bat first. Looks like a good pitch. Looks like on the slower side."
