Team India was abysmal against England in their semifinal clash. The team first struggled to put a good score on the board and then the bowlers were taken to the cleaners by Jos Buttler and Alex Hales. As a result, India lost the match by ten wickets and bowed out of the showpiece event. This was the third T20 World Cup for India where they bowed out after playing in the knockout round.
And with this defeat to England, the wait for the next ICC title after the 2013 Champions Trophy continues for India. This abysmal performance against England let every Indian down and gave others a chance to pounce on the heartbreak. Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar also made good use of this opportunity as he brutally trolled Ifran Pathan for the latter’s tweet post-Pakistan win.
Akhtar took a dig at the former Indian all-rounder for his ‘grace’ tweet about Pakistani fans. As Irfan Pathan had tweeted on Wednesday after Pakistan’s win over New Zealand that Pakistan fans don’t know anything about grace, Akhtar replies to the tweet asking who Pathan was talking about. Akhtar also promised that he will scold the culprit. “Aray kya ho gaya bro? Kisi nay kuch kaha hai toh mujhe bata. Main daantoon ga. Promise,” replied Akhtar.
Although Pathan had issued a clarification after his tweet that it was not directed at the players, fans trolled the former Indian cricketer left, right, and centre. The trolling got worse after India’s loss to England on Thursday.
