The fifth game of the Asia Cup 2023 saw rain playing a spoilsport and interrupting the game thrice. On Monday, September 4, India took on debutants Nepal in another anticipated game of the tournament, and while both the teams as well as fans were expecting it to be an action-packed match, rain took over and interrupted the game thrice. While it left players annoyed, India's star all-rounder Hardik Pandya was seen goofing around with the umpire.
After the end of the 34th over, when covers were brought on, India's vice-captain brought out his funny side and was seen goofing around with the on-field umpire. The Indian cricket fans were quick to notice this side of Pandya, and in no time, the video of the same started getting circulated on social media.
Coming back to the match, rain has been a constant troubling factor in the matches taking place in Sri Lanka. While India's season opener against Pakistan was abandoned before the commencement of the second innings, Men in Blue's second encounter in the ACC event fell prey.
Talking of Nepal, the team under Rohit Paudel's leadership made their Asia Cup debut this season. They have been placed in Group A, alongside India and Pakistan. In the inaugural match of the ongoing edition, they locked horns with Pakistan and got defeated by a huge 238-run margin.
