Team India guaranteed qualification to the Super 4s stage of the Asia Cup 2023 after beating Nepal by 10 wickets. The Men in Blue saw their first game against Pakistan washed out after batting first and posting a 266-run score thanks to half-centuries by Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya. Coming back to the game against Nepal, the Indian team won the toss and invited the Rhinos to bat first.

The Men in Blue were put under the pump with a solid start by the Nepal openers coupled with multiple dropped catches by the likes of Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer. The Rhinos posted a quick-fire 65 in 9.5 overs. But after Kushal Bhurtel's dismissal, India started asserting dominance as Ravindra Jadeja ran through the Nepal middle-order and ended up with figures of 3-40 in 10 overs.
Assisting Jadeja, Mohammed Siraj, despite being expensive, also picked up three wickets while Hardik Pandya and Shardul Thakur had one wicket each. For Nepal, opener Aasif Sheikh (58) and Sompal Kami (48) played crucial knocks before being bundled out at 230 in 48.3 overs. In the second innings, India got off to a struggling start with Karan KC delivering a maiden against Rohit Sharma.
As the Men in Blue reached 13 in 2 overs, heavy rain poured leading to a 40-minute delay. But after the play resumed, Team India got off to a blazing start and completed a stunning 10-wicket victory to complete qualification for the Super 4 stage. Rohit Sharma scored 74 in 59 balls while Shubham Gill added 67 in 62 balls to seal the win.
