Jharkhand skipper and wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan came up with a blistering 64-ball century to guide the side to a solid eight-wicket win in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. Kishan came up with the knock in the clash against Manipur and slammed 134 runs off 78 balls while his team was chasing the target of 254 runs at the Soni Stadium in Jaipur. Earlier in the match, Manipur skipper Bishworjit Konthoujam won the toss and let his side put the score on the board first. 

Manipur got off to a decent start, after openers Karnajit Yumnam and Basir Rahman hit 24 runs and 26 runs, respectively. Johnson Singh contributed 69 runs in 82 balls and powered the side to post 253 runs with the loss of seven wickets. In return, Jharkhand opener and skipper Ishan Kishan came up with a powerful knock of 134 runs off 78 deliveries to help the side chase down the total seamlessly. His knock was powered by 16 boundaries and six maximums, where he reached the three-figure mark in just 64 deliveries. Jharkhand were able to chase down the target in just 28.3 overs. 

Ishan Kishan has been out of Indian team since November 2023

The young wicketkeeper-batter, who has been often compared with legendary MS Dhoni due to his wicketkeeping style as well as the fact that he belongs to Ranchi, has been out of the Indian team since ODI Men’s World Cup 2023. The last time he played in India colours was in the tournament during the clash against Afghanistan. In the match, he came up with a knock of 47 runs. 

Speaking of his career, Kishan made his ODI debut in 2021, against Sri Lanka. Since then, he has played 27 matches in the 50-over format, where he amassed 933 runs at an impressive average of 42.40 and a strike rate of 102.19. His record includes one century and seven half-centuries.
