The 3rd ODI between South Africa and Pakistan saw some of the most emotional moments unfolding amid high-voltage cricketing action at the Wanderers Stadium in Sandton. The third match of the series saw Pakistan recording a whitewash against South Africa, after having defeated their counterparts 0-2. During the customary Pink ODI, the Wanderers Stadium witnessed the birth of a baby boy and a romantic proposal, making it a day to remember for fans, spectators, teams and everyone present at the cricketing venue. 

The scoreboard lit up with the announcement of the birth of a baby boy. The message read, “Congratulations Mr and Mrs Rabeng on the birth of your healthy son at Bullring.” Notably, the baby was delivered at the stadium’s medical facility, where the medics assisted the Rabeng family in the birth of the boy. Following this historic moment, fans witnessed yet another heartwarming moment, where a man went down on his knees to propose to his partner and put a ring on her. 

Saim Ayub’s 101 powers Pakistan to historic whitewash over South Africa

The game saw South Africa blanking out for the first time in a bilateral ODI series at home. They lost the third ODI by a margin of 36 runs in a rain-affected game at the Wanderers. During the match, Saim Ayub of Pakistan starred with bat and ball by scoring his second hundred of the series, and recording figures of 1 for 34. Apart from him, debutant wristspinner Sufiyan Muqeem recorded figures of four for 52. 

Ayub was adjudged player of the match and player of the series for his performance against the Proteas. In the post-match presentation ceremony, he said, “The entire team chipped in. As a young player I look to learn from every game. I look to learn from every mistake. The seniors help me learn.”
