Former India cricketer Vinod Kambli shared his first statement after his hospitalisation, and said that doctors are the reason he is alive. Notably, Kambli, who has been in the news due to his poor health condition off late, was admitted to a hospital on Saturday, December 21. The former cricketer has not been in his best shape, and was critical as per the last update. However, after being admitted on Saturday, the former batter has issued a statement and seems to be in good spirits. However, he is still under the supervision of medics.
The 52-year-old released a statement after being rushed to a hospital in Thane. He thanked the doctors and medical staff for the medical facilities and credited them as the reason he is still alive. Not only this, but he also expressed his gratitude for all the good things he has received. Kambli said, "I would say that the doctors are the reason I am alive. Because of the medical staff and their efforts, I am here today. I am grateful for everything I have received.”

According to reports doing rounds on social media, the former batter was brought to the hospital by one of his fans, who also owns a hospital in Thane. According to PTI, his condition is said to be stable at the moment. According to medical reports and the team of medical experts looking after the cricketer’s health, Kambli has clots in his brain. Reports further state that the team will carry out an additional medical examination on Tuesday, December 24.
Kambli has represented India in 17 Tests and 104 One-Day Internationals. He has recorded over 3000 runs at the international level, and is also the fastest Indian cricketer to reach the landmark of 1000 Test runs. Kambli took 14 innings to achieve the milestone.
