The highly-anticipated clash between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4s stage will take place on Sunday, September 10 at the  R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Ahead of the fixture, Team India received a major boost as star pacer Jasprit Bumrah rejoined the Indian side after a brief break from cricket to celebrate the birth of his first child.

The 29-year-old Bumrah, who made his comeback in the ODI squad after more than a year against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023, missed India's next match against Nepal on September 4.  India's ace fast bowler and his wife, Indian sports presenter,  Sanjana Ganesan welcomed their first child  together on the same date as India's clash against Nepal.

Team India practiced at the indoor training facility in Colombo on Thursday due to severe weather conditions and will reportedly continue training indoors on Friday. Despite former Pakistan players opposing the India-Pakistan clash to take place in Colombo due to severe rain threats on Sunday, the ACC decided to host the Super 4s matches as per the schedule.
