Former India captain and modern-day great Virat Kohli was spotted sweating it out in the nets ahead of the Asia Cup opener. The Indian team will lock horns with their arch-rivals Pakistan in their season opener on September 2, Saturday in Kandy, Sri Lanka. The 16th edition of the Asia Cup began with Pakistan locking horns with Nepal, who are playing their first Asia Cup in 2023.
Ahead of the cricketing drama, the Indian cricketer was seen practising shots off Mohammed Siraj. However, the 34-year-old batter got hit with his delivery, and though he confirmed of not getting injured, Kohli soon left nets after it. The pictures shared by Ray Sportz Cricket from the session have gone viral on social media, garnering interactions and concern from Indian fans.
Notably, the Delhi-born cricketer was last seen in action during the ODI series against West Indies last month. With less than 24 hours remaining for the highly anticipated encounter, a video of the former India skip resurfaced on social media, where he could be seen meeting a specially-abled fan from Pakistan.
The video has once again gone viral on social media platforms, highlighting the generosity of the Indian cricketer who is known for his aggressive batting skills on the field. Pakistan opened their campaign in the continental tournament by defeating Nepal by a huge 238-run margin on August 31. On Saturday, the neighbouring sides will lock horns after a gap of four years, after having met in the 2019 ODI World Cup in their last match.
