The Indian men’s hockey team has been playing some exceptional hockey in the last few months, years, and decades, and their results speak of it. On Tuesday, September 17, the Men in Blue made history by recording their fifth title in the Asian Champions Trophy 2024, beating China with a scoreline of 1-0. Earlier on Monday, September 16, India reached the final of the Asian Champions Trophy for the sixth time in eight editions after defeating South Korea in a comprehensive manner in the semi-final with a scoreline of 4-1.
In the summit clash of the Asian Champions Trophy 2024, India thrashed China at their own den at the Moqi Training Base in Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia. India’s Jugraj Singh was the only goalscorer during the match, who found the back of the net in the early minutes of the final and fourth quarter.

Notably, during the round-robin stage of the six-team tournament, the Indian men’s hockey team managed to keep a clean sheet in five matches and continued their dominance in the tournament by beating the hosts in the summit clash. With this, India now has won most Asian Men’s Hockey Champions Trophy, with Pakistan securing three titles, including one shared with India.
Pakistan beat Korea 5-2 to clinch bronze medal
Earlier in the day, Pakistan secured a resounding 5-2 victory over South Korea to clinch the bronze medal at the Asian Champions Trophy Hockey in China. The win marked a strong finish for Pakistan after their semi-final defeat against hosts China. The bronze medal saw three Pakistan players find the back of the net while only two Korean players could find their name in the scoresheet.
