India's HS Prannoy delivered a sensational performance in the badminton men's singles event at the Asian Games 2023 to beat Malaysia's Lee Zii Jia in the quarterfinal on Thursday, October 5. Prannoy fought through the back pain to win the match and advanced to the semi-final in the badminton men's singles, assuring a medal for India.

HS Prannoy defeated Malaysia's Lee 21-16, 21-23, 22-20 in a 78-minute clash to clinch a spot in the semi-final berth of the badminton men's singles event at the Asian Games 2023.

After winning the first game, Malaysia's Lee bounced back to win the second game 23-21. However, Prannoy held his nerves and delivered a nail-biting performance to win the decided 22-20 and assured yet another medal for India in the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou.
