The Indian cricket team has constantly been busy with one assignment after the other. Gone are the days when there used to be an off-season. There is hardly any month when international cricketers are not playing any cricket. This has meant logistical issues such as the availability of players for all the matches as well as health, fitness and inconsistency in selection that can lead to a failure in a big event like the ICC.
Given that it is the Indian cricket team, more eyes follow it than perhaps any other team in the world and everything they do is under public scrutiny. There was a massive uproar on social media after the team's defeat to England in the T20 World Cup semifinal and it has become more prominent after the Men in Blue lost a series to Bangladesh which they were expected to win with ease, as they plan to win the ODI World Cup at home next year.
With India 0-2 down in the 3 match ODI series against Bangladesh, the BCCI took to social media to announce Team India's packed home season ahead with series against Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Australia. However, upset fans saw this as the perfect opportunity to try and take a dig at the Indian Cricket board.
"At least win these three at home," wrote one social media user tagging the Indian cricket team.
"Better get Namibia and Thailand to play a few series first," wrote another.
