The WWE fans were still talking about the epic Crown Jewel premium live event in Riyadh, where Logan Paul and Roman Reigns delivered an instant classic. After such an event, the fans always have high expectations for Monday Night Raw.
On this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw, the fans got to witness yet another cash-in failure of the Money in the Bank contract. Former WWE United States Champion, Austin Theory tried to cash in his MITB contract; however, his efforts went in vain.
Theory won the Money in the Bank briefcase earlier this year and tried several times to cash in and become a world champion. This week, on Monday Night Raw, the WWE fans were taken aback when Theory cashed in his contract.
However, the weird part about it was that rather than going for the top prize in the company, Theory went after a mid-card championship. This scenario gets weirder because the reigning United States champion, Seth Rollins, issued an open challenge.
Former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley is to blame for Austin Theory's unsuccessful Money in the Bank cash-in on Raw. ‘The Almighty’ Bobby Lashley bash Rollins before their supposed United States championship match.
Theory capitalized and took the opportunity to cash in his contract. However, before the 25-year-old could pin Rollins, Lashley put Theory in the Hurt Lock. After his actions, the former WWE Championship gave a statement as to why he cost Theory his championship.
"Look, I don't care about any of this stuff because, at the end of the day, my title was stolen from me, and from now until I get it back, I'm kicking everybody's a** that stands in my way, I could care less. I'm not about winning matches right now, I'm just about hurting people and making people pay for what they did to me because when it happened to me, everybody was out there cheering," said Lashley.
Bobby Lashley lost his fight against Brock Lesnar at the Crown Jewel premium live event. Throughout his fight with ‘The Beast’, Lashley had the upper hand. However, this supposed heel turn for the Lashley could mean one more championship reign.
Will Lashley challenge Roman Reigns for his title? Let us know in the comments!
