The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday, March 24 announced the central contracts for the senior Indian women’s team for the year 2024-25. As per the announcement, majority of the players retained their contract with the Indian board, whereas a few players were surprisingly included in this year’s list, like Shreyanka Patil and Titas Sadhu.

A total of 16 players were included in the 2024-25 central contract list. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, along with vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and all-rounder Deepti Sharma retained their positions in the Grade A. Four players further retained their place in Grade B, whereas Rajeshwari Gaikwad did not retain her contract.

The third and final category, Grade C saw majority names, including Yastika Bhatia, Radha Yadav, Shreyanka Patil, Titas Sadhu, Arundhati Reddy, Amanjot Kaur, Uma Chetry, Sneh Rana and Pooja Vastrakar. Apart from Patil and Sadhu, Arundhati Reddy, Uma Chetry and Amanjot Kaur were the new entrants.

Harleen Deol grabbed the limelight after he was snubbed of the central contract despite some notable performance in the Indian colours. Other than her, Meghna Singh, Devika Vaidya, Sabbineni Meghana, and Anjali Sarvani did not retain her contracts with the BCCI.
