On Thursday, November 30, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced Team India squads for the upcoming multi-format series against South Africa. The Men in Blue will travel to the Rainbow nation for three-match T20I series, followed by a three-match ODI series and two Tests from December 10, 2023 until January 7, 2024.

While the tour will begin at Kingsmead in Durban with the first T20I, St George’s Park (Gqeberha) and New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg will host the second and third T20I respectively. The series will then shift to 50-over format with the first being played at the New Wanderers Stadium, followed by a match each at St George’s Park and Boland Park (Paarl). Before the Men in Blue head back to India, the sides will also play two-match Test series, each in Centurion and Cape Town.

Talking about the squads across formats, Rohit Sharma will continue to lead the side in Tests, while KL Rahul will be India’s stand-in captain in three-match ODI series in Hardik Pandya’s absence, who continue to recovery from the ankle injury he sustained during the ODI World Cup 2023 in India. However, Suryakumar Yadav will continue to lead in the T20Is.
