The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the tender for the national team lead sponsorship rights. After inking a kit sponsorship deal with Adidas, the Board is hoping complete the finding of new lead sponsorship for the Indian team.

The BCCI has set a base price of INR 350 crore as per multiple reports.  Further, the Board has also set the base price for bilateral matches featuring India has been at INR three crore per match. As far as International Cricket Council (ICC) and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) tournaments go, the base price has been set at Rs 1 crore per match.

As per  Economic Times,  B C CI reportedly released the tender on June 14, 2023, which will be available for purchase till June 26, 2023.  The report further states that the base price is less than that paid by BYJU’s , who was the lead sponsor till March. Till then, BYJU’s was reportedly paying Rs 5.07 crore per match for India's domestic matches and Rs 1.56 crore per match for all ICC and ACC tournaments.

“BCCI has set a realistic base price for the lead sponsor rights. The ad market is tough, and the new-age sponsors who were spending large sums of money on cricket have cut their marketing budgets drastically due to the funding winter,” the Economic Times quoted a source.

The BCCI previously also issued a list of brand categories which cannot apply to Team India's title sponsorship. The list says, “In Annexure B of the document, BCCI listed the following brand categories which are banned:
