Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) is a popular battle royale game that was launched in India as a replacement for PUBG Mobile, which was banned in 2022 due to security reasons. However, BGMI also faced a ban in September 2022 after the government accused it of collecting sensitive user data.
The ban was lifted in May 2023 after Krafton, the developer of BGMI, assured the government that it would comply with the data privacy norms. BGMI is now available for download on the Google Play Store and the App Store, and has regained its popularity among Indian gamers.
