After a humiliating nine-goal defeat by Liverpool on Saturday, newly-promoted Premier League club Bournemouth have sacked their head coach Scott Parker while the first team coach Gary O’Neil is set to take the interim charge of the team.

Former Fulham manager Scott Parker took charge of Bournemouth 14 months ago and led the Cherries to the Premier League promotion. However, the club has decided to sack him just after four matches in the Premier League 2022-23 season.

Just after three days of the record defeat in Premier League,  Bournemouth co-owner Maxim Demin has announced the departure of Parker and  Gary O'Neil taking interim charge while Shaun Cooper and Tommy Elphick to assist him. Demin said, "I would like to place on record my gratitude to Scott and his team for their efforts during their time with us. Our promotion back to the Premier League last season under his tenure will always be remembered as one of the most successful seasons in our history."

"However, in order for us to keep progressing as a team and a club as a whole, it is unconditional that we are aligned in our strategy to run the club sustainably...  Our search for a new head coach will begin immediately", Demin further added.

The 16th placed in the Premier League 2022-23 points table, Bournemouth will next face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday night at the  Vitality Stadium.
