Former world boxing champion Saweety Boora has filed an FIR which levelled the allegation of domestic violence and dowry harassment against her husband Deepak Hooda, who is the bronze medalist kabaddi player. Along with Deepak, Saweety has accused the wrestler’s sister as well in the FIR. The complaint was filed in Hisar, Haryana and the boxer accused Hooda of assaulting her physically and demanding an amount of one crore with an SUV. Responding to Boora’s FIR, Hooda also retorted with a complaint that accused the 32-year-old and her family of seizing his property and giving life threats.
Back in July 2022, the couple tied the knot but the current development indicates both might part ways. Before marrying each other, both knew for around seven years and their love story blossomed which resulted in their wedding. Hooda also contested the Vidhan Sabha election on a BJP ticket from Maham constituency in 2024 but didn’t get success as Congress’ candidate Balram Dangi emerged victorious by a margin of more than 47000 votes. Back in 2020, Hooda became the recipient of the Arjuna Award.
Hooda used to torture Boora, claims boxer’s close associate
In a conversation with Navbharat Times (NBT), Boora’s close associate said, “Yes it’s true both are splitting. Deepak beats her up. He tortures her a lot. This wedding has spoiled her life. She is an international boxer and an income-tax officer as well but despite that Deepak is obsessed with something else. He used to harass her for dowry. He wants a fortuner and an SUV.”
As per NBT sources, Saweety got fed up with Deepak's violence and filed for divorce on February 11. Saweety’s closed one also claimed former boxing champion didn’t want to marry Deepak due to his demands but the wrestler’s father intervened and convinced both to negotiate with each other.
