The Men in Blue enter the ODI World Cup 2023 finale on the back of a ten-match unbeaten streak. While the Rohit Sharma-led side beat all the other nine teams in the league stage, they then went onto avenge their 2019 ODI World Cup semifinal loss, beating the Kane Williamson-led side by 70 runs at the Wankhede Stadium.

While Mohammed Shami took the Player of the Match award for his seven-wicket haul and finishing with the figures of 7/57 in 9.5 overs, it was Indian all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja who took the ‘Best Fielder’ medal. Although Jadeja conceded 63 runs in his 10-over spell, he starred for three brilliant catches.

It was last match ‘Best Fielder’, Suryakumar Yadav who presented the Royal Navghan the medal, the special Bollywood edit stole the limelight. “Cheetah ki chaal, Baaz ki najar aur Royal Navghan ki fielding, kabhi bhi medal le sakte hai,” he reiterated on the lines of Bajirao Mastani.

Earlier while announcing the nominees for the India versus New Zealand ‘Best Fielder’ medal, KL Rahul just said, “Sir, just give me the medal” when his name was called.

Virat Kohli, Shardul Thakur, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Iyer, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav have won the medal so far in the tournament.
