The club football will undergo a break in Europe as the players will return to international duties for the Euro 2024 Qualifiers and Nations League matches. With the Premier League season now over, Manchester United’s Christian Eriksen has been practising with Denmark but ended up picking an injury on his eye. Fans were left concerned when the 31-year-old football star was spotted with a nasty bruise.

In some pictures posted on the Danish FA’s Instagram account, Eriksen was seen with his left eye partially closed, and a caption in Danish confirmed that the bruise has been sewn. However, the United star took to Instagram to confirm that everything is fine.

The eye injury is believed to happen in Monday’s training session and didn’t seem to have much impact on Eriksen as he participated in the training session on Tuesday. Denmark have two international fixtures this week as they take on Northern Ireland on Friday before they travel to Slovenia on Monday.

The Danish FA posted a picture of the United midfielder doing floor exercises holding up both thumbs and smiling for the camera. The caption written in Danish translated to, ‘He has been sewed up and is ready.’ Not only this, but Eriksen also posted a selfie showing off his eye, writing, ‘And everything is okay.’

eriksen sportstiger Being one of the most popular Danish players in the world, Eriksen perhaps holds a special place in the hearts of his fans as a result of his shock collapse during the European League 2021. He had suffered a cardiac arrest during Denmark's’ opening fixture in the tournament, leaving the entire sporting fraternity in shock. Shortly after his collapse, he left Inter and joined Brentford the following January, before United signed him in the summer of 2022.
