Geri Halliwell Horner, a former Spice Girl and the wife of Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner, is all set to make an appearance in the upcoming racing blockbuster movie called Gran Turismo. The 50-year-old English actress and singer will recite the role of Lesley Mardenborough, the mother of an aspiring teenage racing driver named Jann Mardenborough.
Gran Turismo is a true story based on a racing simulation video game, published by PlayStation Studios. In this highly anticipated movie, Mrs Horner is going to share the screen with Orlando Bloom, Djimon Hounsou, Emelia Hartford, Darren Barnet, Archie Madekwe, and David Harbour, among others.
The love interest for Geri Halliwell Horner in this movie is going to be Djimon Hounsou, who plays the role of Steve Mardenborough, the father of Jann Mardenborough. Meanwhile, David Harbour is expected to reprise the role of Jack Salter, who is the trainer for the aspiring teenage racing driver.
Sometime ago, Mrs Horner talked about the reason why she accepted the role of Lesley Mardenborough, to make her silver screen debut. She said to the Metro tabloid in the UK, “The script from the beginning of Gran Turismo was fantastic, it’s a great story, it’s inspiring, it’s real. It’s action but it’s un-airbrushed and there’s a huge amount of heart.”
The cast of this racing-based movie were at the Cannes Film Festival in Paris and then, the Monaco GP for the promotion purposes.
Gran Turismo is going to be released exclusively in theatres on August 11 of this year. It is directed by Neil Blomkamp, while the producers are Doug Belgrad, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Dana Brunetti.
