The Los Angeles Lakers star Christian Wood issued a clarification on his ‘lol’ tweet before the clash against the Atlanta Hawks. The Lakers have reached a significant low point with their back-to-back defeats against the Houston Rockets and the Hawks. In both these games, the Lakers gave more than 130 points and faced defeats by double digits. However, their fair share of problems is going to get more challenging as they face the New York Knicks, regarded as the most successful team with the longest active winning streak.

Before the game against the Hawks, the Lakers had a fair share of drama, where their star Christian Wood seemingly didn’t like Darvin Ham’s lineup in the 122-138 loss game, and expressed the frustration with a tweet. However, later, the 28-year-old issued clarification over the same and said that it was taken differently. Wood revealed, “I meant to quote something. I thought I had the quote, but I didn’t and I pressed send… It came off a certain way, I didn’t mean it that way… Not basketball related.”

It's not a popularity contest: Los Angeles Lakers coach Darvin Ham

Ham was questioned about his choice when he replaced Anthony Davis with Jaxson Hayes. After the game, Ham replied to the media, “I'm not on social media and I don't have everybody running and grabbing hold of stuff like that and throwing it at me unless it's presented to me in this forum. That said, it's a lot of things he and all of us can do better. I thought he was solid overall tonight, tried to help give us a chance.”

He added, “We decided to keep him in his role where he's been for some time to give a chance to come out and try and help us in that manner. So, we're constantly looking for battles with our lineup, it's not a popularity contest.”

Notably, Wood had tweeted, “lol”, which many considered a response to Ham’s experiment with the lineup.
