The defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by a big margin of 80 runs at Eden Gardens to get their second win in IPL 2025. Vice-captain Venkatesh Iyer scored 60 runs off 29 balls while Angkrish Raghuvanshi also contributed with 50(32) runs as KKR posted 200 runs for the loss of six wickets. In reply SRH were bowled out for just 120 runs in 16.4 overs. Varun Chakravarthy and Vaibhav Arora also took three wickets each for KKR.
Despite boasting a strong batting lineup, SRH were no where near the target of 201 runs as their three batters with the likes of Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan were back to thw pavilion within three overs. After that, the visitors couldn't recover from the early shock as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals.
