Football fans are set for another El Clasico as Real Madrid is set to take on arch-rivals Barcelona in the Copa del Rey semi-finals. The draw for the domestic cup was announced at the Spanish FA's headquarters on Monday. Other than the El Clasico, Osasuna will lock horns against Athletic Bilbao in the other semi-final.

All these fixtures are scheduled for four different dates in February, March, and April, as the Spanish FA had a massive scheduling issue as Real Madrid have games in the FIFA Club World Cup early in February, followed by two legs of the Champions League last 16. Similarly, Barcelona has a crucial Europa League fixture against Manchester United.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are scheduled to place the first leg of the semi-final at Camp Nou on March 1 and the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu on April 4 or 5. Whereas Athletic is set to take on Osasuna on February 8 and March 1.

The last time these La Liga heavyweights played each other the Blaugrana registered a massive 3-1 victory Spanish Super Cup two weeks ago. For Barca, young midfield duo Gavi and Pedri scored before Robert Lewandowski netted the third. Karim Benzema also scored the only goal for the Los Blancos at the 93rd-minute mark.

On their way to the semi-finals, Barcelona registered a 1-0 win over Real Sociedad in the last eight. Whereas Real Madrid defeated Atletico 3-1 in an intense game at the Santiago Bernabéu. Talking about the La Liga season, these two teams are battling for the top spot on the table.  Xavi’s men have so far claimed the first place with a five-point lead over Real Madrid as they registered a gruelling 1-0 win over Girona. Whereas Real Madrid had to settle for a sluggish 0-0 draw against Real Sociedad.
