Kohli also played a comparatively slow knock, 30-ball 31 and fell off Noor Ahmed’s over after R Ashwin dismissed Devdutt Padikkal. However, the RCB skipper, Rajat Patidar played a gritty knock of 51 off 32 deliveries, helping the side post a above par score of 196 in the 20 overs. For CSK, the Afghanistan international Noor Ahmed starred with the ball, picking three wickets, Matheesha Pathirana picked two whereas Khaleel Ahmed, R Ashwin returned with a wicket each.

In the run chase for CSK, Rachin Ravindra once again played a crucial knock of 31-ball 41 but could not get support from the other end as wickets kept falling at crucial intervals. However, Ravindra Jadeja played a 19-ball 25, MS Dhoni also played an unbeaten 16-ball 30, but it was not just enough to chase the total, falling short by 50 runs.
