Indian women's 60 kg boxer Jaismine Lamboria had to satisfy with a 3-2 loss against her English opponent Gemma Paige Richardson in the semi-final of the Commonwealth Games 2022 on Saturday. Richardson won all the three rounds to end the Indian boxer's chance to fight for the gold medal.
Jaismine played defensively at the start of the opening round and looked for counter attack throughout the round, which was secured by the English boxer marginally. Richardson landed a combination of punches on Jaismine in the second round and won it unanimously.
After the final round, Richardson emerged victorious through split decision and won the bout 3-2 against India's Jaismine. Jaismine lost the close fight to settle for the bronze medal in the women's 60 kg category at CWG 2022.
Earlier, Indian boxer Jaismine Lamboria defeated Troy Garton of New Zealand 4-1 in the quarterfinals of women's 60 kg category at the Birmingham Games on Thursday, August 4.
