Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has posted a cryptic tweet as multiple reports regarding the Red Devils signing a new keeper surfaced. After a successful 2022-23 season where the Spaniard won Premier League’s Golden Glove Award, his future in Manchester was in doubt with his shortcomings with the ball in his feet.

These issues were further marred by some massive blunders through the season which lead to some big losses for Man United. One of De Gea’s biggest errors came against Sevilla in the UEFA Europa League quarterfinal where the Spanish gloveman led to three goals in the 5-2 loss over two legs.

Hence David de Gea has failed to reach a contract extension with Manchester United as the Red Devils are eyeing to bring on Inter Milan and Cameroon gloveman André Onana as the replacement. Hence with reports regarding Onana surfacing, David de Gea shared a clown emoji on his Twitter account.

Talking about recent reports on André Onana’s possible transfer to Manchester United, transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano shared that there has been direct contact between Man United and Inter Milan for the keeper. Further, Romano expressed that Manchester United are set to present a new verbal bid soon.

Fabrizio Romano tweeted, “Manchester United will proceed with new verbal bid for André Onana. Conversations will continue with Inter as opening bid worth €40m plus €5m add-ons has been rejected. Onana's position is clear: prepared to accept Man United if the two clubs will agree on fee.”
