In match 61 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) hosted the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side sealed a comfortable five-wicket win as they convincingly chased down the 142-run target.

However, ahead of the crucial match, CSK took to social media, urging fans to stay back after the conclusion of the match for “something special”. “🚨🦁 Requesting the Superfans to Stay back after the game! 🦁🚨 Something special coming your way! 🙌🥳” CSK captioned the post.

But this gesture by franchise got fans talking if MS Dhoni would announce his retirement from IPL, the only tournament he features in. However, the former CSK cricketer, Suresh Raina when asked if it would be MS Dhoni’s last in Chepauk, confirmed that it will not be so.  Former Tamil Nadu cricketer Abhinav Mukund, who is also a part of JioCinema’s commentary panel asked Raina the big question after rumours around the same spread like wildfire. “Obviously, I have to ask you this question. Is this MS Dhoni’s last game here at Chepauk?” Mukund questioned to which the former India cricketer replied,  “Definitely Not” .
