Indian ace PV Sindhu secured her first victory at Denmark Open 2023 as she defeated Scottish shuttler Kirsty Gilmour in Odense, Denmark, on October 17, Tuesday. The two-time Olympic medalist, who made it to the semi-finals of Arctic Open 2023 last week, took down her rival with a scoreline of 21-14, 18-21, 21-10 in the women’s singles opener.

The ongoing BWF Super 750 event in Denmark offers Sindhu an opportunity to claim her first BWF World Tour title of the year. The Indian will lock horns with Indonesian seventh-seed Gregoria Mariska Tunjung in the next round. It is to be noted that the results at the Denmark Open will count for their qualifying rankings at the 2024 edition of the Olympics in Paris.
